• Visit Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and an 18-block stretch of Hollywood Boulevard including Mann's Chinese Theatre and the world-famous intersection of Hollywood and Vine.
• The Skirball Cultural Center - reflecting a history of 4,000 years, this stunning collection features 25,000 objects of artifacts related to Jewish life and culture. The Skirball also features engaging music, theater, comedy, film, family, and literary programs and a new interactive family destination inspired by the Noah's Ark story—all in a stunning architectural setting designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie. • Los Angeles Maritime Museum - in the former Municipal Ferry Terminal in the Port of Los Angeles, is the largest maritime museum on the West Coast
  Located in San Pedro (Berth 84 in the Port of Los Angeles, 20 miles of LAX, Hwy 101 South to Harbor Blvd exit). See monuments to the US Navy heavy cruiser LOS ANGELES, and the American Merchant Marine Veterans Memorial. (Open Tues.-Sat, ADA accessible. www.lamaritimemuseum.org)

• Tour the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center; view the Getty’s eclectic and controversial collection plus savor incredible views, unique gardens and a wonderful restaurant. (Guests must pay to park and ride to location via bus; free admission. Reservations recommended, closed Mondays.

• Japanese American National Museum – This uniquely American museum, located in the Little Tokyo's historic district, is the only national museum dedicated to sharing the Japanese American experience. • Get “dem bones” to Rancho La Brea, frequently referred to as the "Tar Pits"--one of the richest and most famous asphalt deposits of Ice Age fossils in the world. Since 1908, more than one million fossil bones dating 10,000 to 40,0000 years old have been recovered at this site. During summer the public can watch actual excavations!
  

SHOPPING/DINING

• The Block at Orange, a few miles southeast of Disneyland and very close to the hotel, this mall features the best names in manufacturers’ and retail outlets. There’s a Vans skate park here so it’s very popular with teenage skateboarders. Also, AMC 30 Movie Theater, Lucky Strike Lanes, Dave & Buster's and brewpub Alcatraz make this a fun family nightspot too.

• Sunset Plaza – Tourists and celebrities populate this chi-chi stretch of Sunset Blvd that is dotted with outdoor cafes and boutiques. Grab a seat at one of the many European cafes and watch “the beautiful people.” (Tip: Nearby at the hip Standard Hotel, you can get low-cost, cutting-edge salon services. • Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, the heart of this beach community! Stroll 30 pedestrian-friendly city blocks of retail stores, entertainment and dining establishments near the beach, Palisades Park and Santa Monica Pier.

• Historic Old Town Pasadena California, home of the Rose Bowl parade, is located just minutes from downtown Los Angeles in the beautiful San Gabriel Valley.
